Sue Bennett -Williams

Sue Bennett-Williams sailed from Florida through the turquoise waters of the Bahamas in the summer of 1970. She is now a naturalized Bahamian. Sue has worked primarily with watercolor in the past, but now is experimenting with watercolor and acrylics to create a different surface effect along with combining clay to create mixed media pieces. She also creates installations using clay and other materials.  

 

Bennett-Williams is a retired Assistant Professor of Art at The College of The Bahamas where she taught Art from 1988-2013. Her company known as Bahama Arts has printed the latest edition of ‘A Little Bahamian Cookbook’. Sue and her husband opened a successful art and music school in their studios known as ASMAC Studios in September 1993. Their after-school program has been a positive creative experience for hundreds of children throughout the island of New Providence. Bennett-Williams is a dedicated artist and art instructor who is constantly challenging her students of all ages and in return being inspired by their unique and exhilarating spontaneity.
