Daniel Belton

Daniel Belton was born in the United Kingdom to an English Father and a Bahamian Mother.  He moved to Nassau when he was a young boy and graduated from Kingsway Academy.  Belton was the recipient of the Best Performance Award for Carpentry and Joinery during the 2000 BGCSE Examinations from the Ministry of Education and Youth Testing and Evaluation Section.  He went on to study abroad at Lynn University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with a Specialization in Sports and Recreation Management.  Belton uses reclaimed wood as his primary material, transforming found and discarded pieces into finished furniture, sculpture and wall decor. He strives to conserve the character of the used material, leaving what others deem as ‘imperfect’: knots, spiral nail holes, cracks, warping and browning. He masterfully incorporates and preserves these wooden ‘scars’ into vibrantly colored, sculptural and functional furniture pieces.
