View our collection of vintage maps detailing the geography of The Bahama Islands and the Caribbean.

Originally the islands of Arawaks and Lucayans, the country has long since been called the “New World” as discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492. He thought that his journey led him to India, hence the many names the Bahamas has held over the years, including: West India, The West India Islands, The West Indies, etc. These maps detail the history of documentation of the New World and how it has changed over the years as more sailed the open seas.

The collection begins from 1640s and onwards.
